SriLankan Airlines has resumed regular passenger flights between Colombo and Kuwait, restoring a key air link between Sri Lanka and the Gulf state. The national carrier began operating the route again on August 8, 2026, with six flights per week, providing travelers with regular connectivity between the two destinations.
Six Flights Every Week
Under the renewed schedule, flight UL229 will operate from Colombo to Kuwait every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The flight will depart Colombo at 5:10 p.m. and arrive in Kuwait at 8:05 p.m. the same day. There will be no scheduled service on Wednesday. The corresponding UL230 service will depart Kuwait at 9:10 p.m. on the same six operating days. The flight is scheduled to arrive in Colombo at 5:15 a.m. the following day, providing passengers with an overnight return connection.
Restored Air Connectivity
The resumption restores SriLankan Airlines’ regular passenger services between Colombo and Kuwait after the route was previously unavailable. The six-weekly schedule gives passengers greater flexibility when traveling between Sri Lanka and Kuwait, while also strengthening air connectivity between Colombo and the Gulf region.
Boost for Travel and Connectivity
The renewed service is expected to benefit passengers traveling for business, employment, family visits and other purposes between Sri Lanka and Kuwait. With flights operating on six days of the week, travelers now have multiple options to plan their journeys, with Wednesday remaining the only day without a scheduled service. SriLankan Airlines’ return to the Kuwait route also marks a step toward strengthening the airline’s international network and improving connectivity between Sri Lanka and key destinations in the Middle East.
