The 19th edition of the Sudurpaschim Mahotsav commenced on Monday in Dhangadhi, Kailali, aiming to promote tourism and enhance economic activities across the province. The event is being organized by the Kailali Chamber of Commerce and Industry under the theme, “Tourism, Culture, Industry and Trade: Basis for Prosperous Sudurpaschim.”
Focus on Tourism, Culture, and Economic Growth
Chairperson of the Association, Pushkar Raj Ojha, stated that the fair is designed to uplift the tourism sector while also promoting agriculture, industry, trade, local culture, and the arts. He emphasized that Sudurpaschim Province holds immense potential for development, and platforms like the Mahotsav play a vital role in showcasing its strengths.
Over 500 Stalls and Rs 150 Million Business Expected
The Mahotsav features around 500 stalls displaying products and services from diverse sectors, including agricultural goods, medicinal herbs, handicrafts, furniture, automobiles, garments, electronics, hospitality, and information technology. Organizers estimate that the event will generate business transactions worth Rs 150 million during its run.
Event to Continue Until December 17
The Sudurpaschim Mahotsav will remain open to visitors until December 17, providing a vibrant platform for entrepreneurs, traders, and cultural groups to showcase their offerings and contribute to the province’s economic and cultural development.
