Five-star hotel The Kingsbury has donated Rs 11.11 million to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund to support relief, rescue, medical treatment and reconstruction efforts for communities affected by the recent floods in Rasuwa. The hotel’s Chairman Ravi Sharma Dhital handed over a cheque of Rs 11,111,111 to Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle on Tuesday. The contribution is intended to support communities facing the aftermath of the devastating floods and assist ongoing government-led recovery efforts.
Support for Flood-Affected Communities
The financial assistance will contribute to relief and recovery activities, including emergency support for affected residents, rescue operations, medical treatment, and reconstruction of damaged infrastructure. Dhital said the contribution was made with the objective of extending meaningful support to people affected by the disaster. He emphasized the need for continued assistance to communities as they work to recover from the impact of the floods.
The contribution by The Kingsbury Hotel comes at a time when flood-affected areas are continuing to face significant recovery challenges, with relief agencies, government authorities and private organizations involved in assisting affected communities.
Tourism Sector Joins Relief Efforts
Dhital, who also chairs Hotel Kingsbury in Birtamode, Casino Vegas in Dhaulabari, Casino Tiger Palace in Bhairahawa and Casino Seven Horses in Birtamode, said the businesses under his leadership had extended financial support toward relief, rescue, treatment and reconstruction in the flood-affected areas.
The donation reflects the growing involvement of Nepal’s tourism and hospitality businesses in social responsibility and disaster-response initiatives. As the tourism sector remains closely connected with local communities, support from hotels and other tourism enterprises can play an important role in strengthening recovery and resilience in disaster-affected destinations.
The contribution also underscores the importance of cooperation between the government, private sector and local communities in responding to emergencies and supporting long-term recovery.
