Gandaki Province Chief Minister Surendra Raj Pandey has emphasized that tourism and agriculture are top priorities for the provincial government. Speaking at the inauguration of the “Historical Tourism Entrepreneurs’ Meet 2081,” organized by the Nepal Hotel Entrepreneurs’ Association Gorkha in Gorkha’s district headquarters, CM Pandey highlighted that tourism and agriculture form the foundation for the overall prosperity of the province.
He stressed that investment in these sectors is essential to create employment opportunities in rural areas. “By providing job opportunities in villages, we can curb the trend of rural-to-urban migration and the increasing exodus of people seeking opportunities abroad,” he stated. He also underscored the government’s commitment to making agriculture more commercialized by prioritizing subsidy programs for production.
CM Pandey added that the provincial government is actively working on plans to promote the region’s tourist destinations. “The private sector has a significant role and importance in this endeavor,” he remarked, urging collaboration for the province’s growth in tourism and agriculture.
