Lekhak: Good Behavior Drives Tourism Growth

Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak emphasized the importance of good behavior in developing the tourism sector. While inaugurating the immigration office in Belahiya Rupandehi, urged employees to be polite, simple, and pleasant when interacting with tourists and the general public. He noted that the behavior of employees reflects the country’s state and urged them to serve with civility and humility, especially when dealing with tourists or other service users facing paperwork issues. He stated that the immigration office serves as the country’s “mirror,” and employees must ensure proper conduct at all times.

Minister Lekhak also highlighted that the infrastructure built in Belahiya has established the area as one of the largest border posts in the country. He mentioned that there are 13 immigration offices across the country, which has made it easier for tourists to visit Nepal. The minister emphasized that Nepal’s tourism sector is being enhanced to promote economic growth. He further pointed out that the government is working to create a favorable environment for tourists and improve the country’s overall economic conditions.

In addition, Siddharthanagar Municipality’s Mayor, Istiyaq Ahmed Khan, spoke about the development efforts in Lumbini, noting that the region’s road infrastructure issues have caused problems for both locals and tourists. The office building, built for NPR 10.25 million, is accessible to disabled individuals and is earthquake-resistant, with fire safety equipment installed.
