Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, Badri Pandey, inspected the under-construction Nepalgunj Airport during his visit on Saturday. Minister Pandey was in Nepalgunj as part of a test flight operation to the Khalanga Bazaar Airport in Achham.
The Nepalgunj Airport project, with an estimated cost of NPR 3 billion, is targeted for completion by the end of 2082 BS. The construction, initiated in Magh 2079 BS, is being carried out by Sharma & Company as the primary contractor. According to Engineer Bimal Paudel of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, the work is progressing steadily.
During the inspection, Minister Pandey expressed satisfaction with the construction progress and shared optimism that the project would be completed within the scheduled timeline.
The development of the Nepalgunj Airport is expected to significantly enhance regional connectivity and bolster tourism in the western region of Nepal.
