NICE-2025 Expo Concludes with Grand Success in Pokhara

The Nepal-India-China Expo (NICE-2025), a tri-nation tourism exhibition that began three days ago in Pokhara, concluded today. Organized by the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Nepal Chapter, in collaboration with the Nepal Tourism Board, Pokhara Tourism Council, and other government and private sector partners, the exhibition aimed to attract more foreign tourists, particularly from neighboring India and China. The event saw the participation of over 600 attendees, including 80 tourism sellers, 70 buyers, and 75 international representatives.

The exhibition served as a platform for government and private-sector institutions in the tourism and hospitality industries from all three countries, facilitating business networking and trade opportunities.

According to PATA Nepal Chairman Khem Lakai, the event not only showcased Pokhara’s capability to host such large-scale events but also contributed to the overall promotion of Nepal’s tourism sector.

Similarly, PATA Nepal Secretary-General Narendra Dev Bhatt emphasized that the expo provided an important opportunity to strengthen connections and coordination between travel trade organizations while promoting tourism in all three nations. Nepal Tourism Board CEO Deepak Raj Joshi highlighted that this was Nepal’s first-ever tri-nation tourism exhibition, marking a significant milestone for the tourism industry.

Meanwhile, Pokhara Tourism Council Chairman Taranath Pahari stated that the exhibition helped position Pokhara as an attractive destination for MICE tourism (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions), including business events, weddings, and festivals. “The event has been crucial in promoting not just Pokhara but Nepal as a whole, further reinforcing Pokhara’s identity as a unique destination for nature, culture, and adventure tourism,” he added.

Anil Ghimire, Corporate Director of Nepal Airlines, also noted that the expo successfully highlighted new possibilities in tourism. Tourism entrepreneurs believe that the event made a significant contribution to attracting more tourists from Nepal’s two large neighboring countries, India and China.
