Youth Engaged In Regenerative Tourism Awareness And Training At NATHM

An interaction program was held to raise awareness among youth about regenerative tourism and attract them with knowledge and skills. Organized by fifth-semester Bachelor of Travel and Tourism Management (BTTM) students of Nepal Academy of Tourism and Hotel Management (NATHM), the event featured presentations and training by tourism experts.

NATHM Executive Director Sangeeta Ojha said the program would help young tourism professionals apply practical knowledge and contribute to research and policy-making. She emphasized the need for policy improvements to support regenerative tourism in Nepal.

Keynote speaker Raj Gyawali, founder of Social Tours, presented on the shift from sustainable to regenerative tourism. He stressed the importance of involving local communities for meaningful tourism. Other panelists included NATTA General Secretary Yubika Bhandari, Kora Tours CEO Bijay Amatya, and tourism researcher Rakshit Bahadur Khadka.

The event also showcased Nepali architecture, clay art, and bamboo products. Organizers said the program aims to position Nepal as a responsible tourism destination that preserves and enhances its cultural and natural heritage.
