131 Individuals Receive Hotel Management Training in Mahottari

In a significant move to boost skills in the hospitality sector, 131 individuals from Mahottari have completed a three-month vocational training program in various aspects of hotel management. The training, supported by the Ministry of Labour and Employment of Madhesh Province, was conducted by the Bardibas branch of the Nepal Academy of Tourism and Hotel Management (NATHM).

During a ceremony held in Bardibas, certificates were awarded to the trainees by NATHM Executive Director Sangita Ojha, officials from the Ministry of Labour and Employment of Madhesh Province, and Bardibas Municipality Chief Prahlad Kumar Chhetri. The training covered six key areas: basic cooking skills, food and beverage service, barista (coffee making), bakery (bread and cake making), housekeeping, and tourist guiding. Among the trainees, 42 were women.

Shivendra Mallik, head of the Bardibas branch of NATHM, highlighted the ongoing collaboration with provincial and local governments to provide essential training annually. Satish Mishra, the coordinator for vocational training at NATHM, emphasized that the trained individuals are equipped to offer their services both domestically and internationally in their respective fields.

Bardibas Municipality Chief Kshetri noted the ongoing efforts to promote technical education and entrepreneurship in collaboration with NATHM Bardibas. NATHM Principal Ramkailash Bichha stated that the skilled workforce could achieve substantial income and self-employment opportunities either in Nepal or abroad.

Established in 2077 BS, the NATHM Bardibas branch has been offering undergraduate courses and practical training since 2079 BS, according to branch head Mallik. The initiative underscores the commitment to enhancing technical skills and employment prospects within the hospitality industry, contributing to the economic development of the region.
