16-Year-Old Japanese Set to Break Everest Summit Record

The Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) today, in a heartfelt ceremony, bid farewell to Mr. Mukesh Akiyama (Pandey), a 16-year-old Japanese national embarking on a momentous journey to summit Mount Everest. Mr. Akiyama, if successful, will create history by becoming the youngest Japanese ever to reach the top of the world’s highest peak. This significant occasion was marked by the participation of esteemed representatives from the NMA, along with officials from Altitude Air, Manang Air, and Seven Summit Treks.

Among those in attendance were NMA President Mr. Nima Nuru Sherpa, Senior Vice President Mr. Thakur Raj Pandey, General Secretary Mr. Mohan Lamsal, Treasurer Mr. Mukti Pandey, and Secretariat Member Mr. Rajendra Bahadur Lama. The ceremony also saw the presence of Advisor Mr. Mingma Sherpa and Chief Administrative Officer Mr. Jinesh Sindurakar.

Each of the NMA officials extended their warmest wishes and full support to Mr. Akiyama as he sets off on this incredible expedition. The team emphasized the significance of his mission, not only as a personal achievement but also as a momentous milestone in mountaineering history.
