163 Stranded Foreign Tourists Rescued Amid Floods and Landslides

A total of 163 foreign tourists stranded due to floods and landslides have been successfully rescued. The operation was carried out following an emergency meeting on Saturday at the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, led by Minister Badri Prasad Pandey. The rescue was coordinated by the Crisis Cell under the Nepal Tourism Board.

The Crisis Cell collaborated with foreign embassies, consulates, travel and trekking agencies, and Nepal’s security forces to facilitate the rescue of the tourists. A 24/7 service has also been initiated for tourists through the Tourist Police and the Crisis Cell’s hotline. The Cell also provides real-time updates on flight services and weather conditions through its website.

In a related event, the Ministry reported the safe rescue of two Singaporean tourists, Yap Si Min and King Yi Kent, who were previously reported missing due to floods and landslides. Furthermore, a Nepali and an Indian tourist were also rescued from Ramechhap.

The Crisis Cell continues to work closely with all relevant agencies to ensure the safety and well-being of tourists affected by the recent natural disasters.
