A tragic plane crash in the São Paulo province of Brazil has claimed the lives of 62 people. The aircraft, carrying four crew members and 58 passengers, crashed on Friday night, leaving no survivors, according to officials. The victims included 34 men and 28 women.
The ATR 72-500 aircraft had departed from the southern state of Paraná, bound for São Paulo’s Guarulhos Airport. The crash occurred in the Vinhedo settlement, located about 80 kilometers northwest of São Paulo.
Despite the severity of the crash, no residents of the settlement were harmed, with only one house reportedly sustaining damage, according to the BBC. Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the crash.
