Key developments include the expansion of Gautam Buddha International Airport, which now handles international flights, making it more convenient for visitors from around the world to reach Lumbini. This airport expansion is anticipated to significantly increase the number of international tourists visiting the region.
New hotels, guesthouses, and eco-friendly resorts have been established to cater to the diverse needs of visitors. These accommodations range from budget-friendly options to luxurious stays, ensuring that tourists of all preferences can find suitable lodging. Enhanced transportation options, such as shuttle buses and electric rickshaws, have also been introduced to provide easy and environmentally friendly mobility within the Lumbini complex.
The Lumbini Development Trust has been working diligently to preserve and promote the sacred sites within the Lumbini area.
