Janakpur-Ayodhya Rail Service Nearing Final Preparation Phase

Janakpur, the capital of Province 2, is gearing up for the launch of a new rail service connecting it to Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, India, marking the final stages of preparation. Niranjan Jha, Managing Director of Nepal Railway Company Limited, has announced that the operational timetable has been officially released, signaling imminent plans for the service to commence.

The new rail service will operate every Saturday, departing Janakpur at 1:30 PM and arriving in Ayodhya at 4:00 AM the following day. The return journey will start from Ayodhya at 5:00 PM and reach Janakpur at 7:30 AM the next morning. Jha emphasized the availability of the schedule to the public and expressed confidence in launching the service promptly.

“We are in the final stages of preparation to launch the Janakpur-Ayodhya rail service as per the published timetable. We are currently finalizing the inauguration details and will make an official announcement once the timing is confirmed,” stated Jha.

Since Chait 20, 2078 BS (March 2022), Janakpur has seen ongoing rail operations to Jaynagar-Kurtha, with recent extensions reaching Bhangaha in Mahottari district over the past year.
