Pokhara Jomsom Flights Witness Surge In Demand As Road Disruption Cuts Off Mustang

The Pokhara International Airport and the old Pokhara Airport have prohibited flying kites, drones, and balloons, as well as using laser lights, in their air traffic zones and surrounding areas due to potential risks to flight safety.

Jagannath Niraula, chief of Pokhara International Airport, said the public had been notified not to engage in such activities, warning that they could seriously affect the safety of aircraft operations.

Improper Waste Disposal Poses Risk to Flights

The airport authority has also urged people living in and around the airport areas to manage waste and dead animals properly. Dumping garbage indiscriminately and disposing of dead birds or animals in canals can attract birds and other wildlife, increasing the risk of bird strikes and other hazards during aircraft takeoffs and landings.
