A vibrant display of artistic creations and photographs by Egyptian artists was held in Cairo on Thursday, highlighting the cultural exchange between Nepal and Egypt. Organized by the Embassy of Nepal in Cairo, the exhibition featured the works of 18 artists, photojournalists, and documentary makers, including notable figures such as Ashraf Talaat and Yasher Al Mubarak.
The event was graced by veteran Egyptian artist Galal Gomma, and attendees had the opportunity to view Ashraf Talaat’s stunning photographs from Mustang and Lumbini, taken in March and May, as well as Yasher Al Mubarak’s captivating images from the Pashupatinath Temple during last year’s Shivaratri festival.
Madhavraj Kafle, the Embassy’s Third Secretary, emphasized the significance of showcasing Nepal’s diverse landscape, cultural heritage, and the faces of its people through these artistic endeavors.
Nepal’s Ambassador to Egypt, Sushil Kumar Lamsal, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the photographers and artists for their live presentations of Nepal. He highlighted the importance of such exhibitions in deepening the cultural ties between Nepal and Egypt. Egyptian lawmaker Dr. Mai El-Batran echoed these sentiments, noting the contributions of the artists in fostering stronger cultural connections between the two nations.
Dr. Prakash Adhikari, a Nepali scientist working at United Oil Company, remarked on the crucial role that such programs play in promoting Nepal on the international stage.
The exhibition attracted around 100 attendees, including artists, diplomats, journalists, students, and members of the Nepali diaspora, marking a significant event in the ongoing cultural dialogue between Nepal and Egypt.
