Nepali Tourist Bus Association Delegation Heads to Thailand to Explore Road Connectivity

Today, a delegation from the Tourist Bus Association of Nepal (TBAN) departed for Thailand to conduct a comprehensive study on road connectivity from Kathmandu to Bangkok.

Led by TBAN President Krishan Acharya, the 18-member team aims to engage in discussions with tourism entrepreneurs and government authorities in Thailand regarding the feasibility of operating tourist buses between Thailand and Kathmandu.

President Acharya emphasized that the delegation will also explore opportunities for tourism promotion in Cambodia during their visit. He expressed confidence that this initiative will contribute to achieving the government’s target of welcoming 1.6 million tourists next year.

TBAN has been pivotal in transporting both domestic and international tourists to various scenic destinations across Nepal via tourist buses. The journey from Kakarvitta in Nepal to Bangkok spans approximately 3,377 kilometers, offering travelers the option to reach Nepal from Bangkok via the Kakarvitta checkpoint through Myanmar, Bangladesh, and India.

The delegation’s trip is expected to foster closer ties between Nepal and Thailand’s tourism sectors, paving the way for enhanced collaboration and increased tourist arrivals in Nepal.
