Renowned mountaineer and guide Chatur Tamang has successfully climbed Europe’s highest peak, Mount Elbrus (5,642 meters), for the 149th time. This remarkable achievement marks another milestone in Tamang’s illustrious career as a mountain guide.
In an extraordinary feat, Tamang managed to climb Mount Elbrus three times last month, reaching the summit on June 14, 23, and 24. His latest ascent, which took place on July 3, saw him conquering the east side of the mountain at 10:00 AM Russian time. This accomplishment means he has successfully climbed Mount Elbrus from all possible directions.
Tamang has been guiding climbers on Mount Elbrus for many years, having begun his journey on this peak in 2002. To reach the summit 200 times, he continues to demonstrate his exceptional skill and dedication to mountaineering.
In addition to his numerous ascents of Mount Elbrus, Chatur Tamang has an impressive record of climbing other major peaks. His achievements include summiting Mount Everest, Lhotse, Kanchenjunga, Cho Oyu, Manaslu, Ama Dablam, Baruntse, Island Peak, and Mera Peak, among others.
