Landslide Disrupts Jayaprithvi Highway: Tourists Advised to Seek Alternative Routes

The Sanfe-Martadi highway has been blocked by landslides triggered by incessant rainfall over the past few days, significantly affecting tourism and travel in the region. Bajura District Police Office Inspector and Information Officer Dev Chaudhary reported that landslides near Serabagar, Haddekhola, and the District Jail have obstructed the highway, leaving long and short-distance vehicles, including cargo trucks and buses, stranded.

This roadblock has caused major disruptions for tourists traveling to and from the region. Buses from Dhangadhi, Mahendranagar, and Nepalgunj have been halted, leaving tourists and locals alike unable to continue their journeys.

Adding to the inconvenience, the Martadi-Kolti road, which connects the northeastern part of the district, has also been blocked for traffic for the past five days. Police Inspector Chaudhary noted that the landslides in Badimalika Municipality-7 district, caused by continuous rain, have made the road impassable.

Chief District Officer Bhimkant Paudel mentioned that road clearance and resumption of regular traffic will only be possible once the rainfall ceases.

Tourists planning to travel through these routes are advised to take alternative methods or postpone their journeys until the situation improves. The safety and well-being of travelers are of utmost importance, and it is crucial to stay informed about the latest updates from local authorities.
