On the first day of the New Year, there is a rush of visitors to the tourist and religious sites of Palpa. There is a rush of visitors at popular tourist and religious places like Tansen’s Srinagar Danda, Rani Mahal, Ruru area, Telgha, Bhairabsthan in Ripdikot, Rambha’s Rimigha Lake, Kaude Lake, Jantilang in Tinau, Maramkot’s Rambadevi, Vansh Gopal Park, Talpokhara, Koudelek, Ridi, and Ramdil, among others, with both domestic and international tourists.

Due to previous work commitments, he hadn’t had the chance to travel, but this year, he made time to visit with his family for the past week. “For the New Year, we came here to encourage and have fun with our children,” Sunar added.
Prem Rijal from Butwal, who visited the Bhairabsthan Temple (famous for its large Trishul in Asia) in Palpa, also came with his family for New Year celebrations. “I am usually busy with office work and hardly get any free time,” he said, “but since it’s a special occasion, I decided to spend time with my family and enjoy together.”
At Rani Mahal, which is also known as Nepal’s Taj Mahal and a symbol of love, there has been an increase in visitors, both domestic and international. Sushil Basyal from Bagmatsali, who visited with friends, said that he came to Rani Mahal for the New Year and encouraged everyone to visit via social media.
“This year, I’ve noticed more visitors than last year,” he shared. “It seems like there’s a growing culture of tourism.” He also mentioned that the hustle and bustle at Rani Mahal started early in the morning on New Year’s Day. Basyal said that many more domestic tourists have come to celebrate the New Year, including families, groups, and newlyweds.
The local community reports that the tourism sites are buzzing with activity due to various events, picnics, and people visiting for sightseeing during the New Year. At Ridi in the Ruru area, there has been a rush of people bathing and visiting the Rishikeshwesh temple. Other popular spots such as Ramdi, Ramapur Bhujat’s Siddh Baba, Sita Kund, and Talpokhara, located along the Kali Gandaki river, also see a rush of domestic tourists.
