Muktinath to Shine Brighter as a Sacred Destination for Global Pilgrims

There is a growing call to develop the Muktinath area further as a religious tourism site. Chief District Officer (CDO) Bishnu Prasad Bhusal stated that efforts will be made to extend visitors’ stays at the Temple and build infrastructure for a new pilgrimage trail.

CDO Bhusal, along with a team, visited the area last Saturday to assess its tourism potential. He emphasized the need for constructing a foot trail of around four kilometers to connect three religious heritage sites in the region.

“The Muktinath Development Committee, in coordination with residents, will take the lead in constructing the trail,” he said.

The visiting team included administration staff Prakash Paudel, engineer Jagadish Chandra Joshi from the Infrastructure Development Office, and Rabi Subedi from the Muktinath Development Committee, among others totaling eleven members. The team conducted a preliminary feasibility study aimed at linking alternative religious heritage sites with tourism.
