South Asian Travel Awards Set to Shine in Kathmandu: Celebrating Excellence and Innovation

The upcoming eighth edition of the South Asian Travel Awards (SATA) is scheduled to take place in Kathmandu on September 19-20, marking a significant event in regional hospitality and tourism. Over 250 representatives from hotels, travel agencies, airlines, and media across six countries will convene for this prestigious occasion.

During a press conference in Kathmandu, the organizers revealed their intentions to offer 44 prizes in a variety of categories. The Malla Hotel and Aloft Hotel, the main sponsors of the event, reaffirm their dedication to improving the tourism and hospitality industries through this partnership.

The Nepal Tourism Board and the Hotel Association Nepal support the awards ceremony, which honors excellence in South Asian hospitality. These groups hope to make use of the occasion to further travel sector entrepreneurship, trade exchanges, and tourism.

The vice chairman of the Nepal Tourism Board, Ram Prasad Sapkota, underlined the critical role that SATA plays in promoting travel and hospitality in the region. The Executive Chief of the Board, Nandini Lahe Thapa, hailed the occasion as a spur for the growth of Nepal’s tourism industry.

The Chairman of the Hotel Association of Nepal, Binayak Shah, expressed hope that holding the award ceremony in Nepal would boost the industry, which has recently seen difficulties. The CEO of the Hotel Association, Tek Bahadur Mahat, is a member of the Nepali jury and adds to the awards’ stringent selection procedure. In addition to honoring excellence in South Asian travel, the SATA event in Kathmandu strives to revitalize and advance tourism initiatives in Nepal and abroad.
