NEPSE Index Records Loss, Hotel & Tourism Sector Hits Hard

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) witnessed a decline today, as the benchmark index fell by 14.87 points, or 0.56%, to close at 2,634.23. This loss follows a drop of 12.53 points in the previous session. The market opened at 2,650.54 and reached an intraday high of 2,669.28 before touching its lowest point of the day at 2,632.29.

Meanwhile, the Hotel & Tourism Index also took a hit, shedding 151.47 points, a significant 2.21% drop, to end at 6,672.22. This loss follows a strong 400.81-point gain in the previous session. The sector opened at 6,854.51 and peaked at an intraday high of 6,918.09, while dipping to a low of 6,643.90 during the day’s trading.

Despite the losses, investors and market analysts are keeping an eye on the broader market trends, as fluctuations in key sectors such as Hotel & Tourism continue to affect market sentiment.
