Nepal to Host Prestigious ‘Sagarmatha Dialogue’ in Kathmandu with 175 International Guests

The Government of Nepal will organize the ‘Sagarmatha Dialogue’ in Kathmandu from Jestha 2 to 4, with over 175 foreign participants expected to attend. The event will feature representatives from 12 countries and bring together approximately 350 participants, including both foreign guests and local attendees.

Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba, Foreign Minister and Chair of the Sagarmatha Dialogue Management Committee, announced the details during a press conference. The event’s main theme will focus on “Climate Change, Mountains, and the Future of Humanity,” aiming to create a platform for international dialogue on global issues and solutions.

Sagarmatha Dialogue

The Dialogue, which is an initiative by Nepal, seeks to provide an international forum for discussion, offering insights on addressing human challenges. The first edition will see high-level representatives from India, China, and Azerbaijan, among others. The event will also include a special video message from the United Nations Secretary-General.

The program will include 12 focused discussions, with experts, policymakers, and researchers contributing to in-depth deliberations on climate change and mountain-related problems.

In total, 61 foreign and domestic organizations, including international development agencies, universities, and research centers, will participate. Minister Dr. Rana expressed confidence that Nepal’s leadership in fostering dialogue on global issues would boost national pride and enhance its global standing.
