The Meteorological Forecasting Division has predicted light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning today in several parts of Nepal. The affected areas include Koshi, Bagmati, Madhesh, Gandaki, and Lumbini Provinces, as well as the hilly regions of other provinces.

Along with rainfall, there is a chance of light snowfall at one or two locations in the high hilly and mountainous regions of the country, the Division added. This indicates the possibility of varying climatic conditions depending on altitude and geography.
Today’s overall climatic conditions are expected to be partly to generally cloudy across Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Madhesh Provinces including their hilly regions. Meanwhile, the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to mainly fair climate.
The Meteorological Forecasting Division explained that the current weather pattern is influenced by westerly winds combined with local winds circulating over the country. Additionally, partial influence from moisture-laden winds originating from the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea is contributing to the present weather situation.
Residents and travelers are advised to remain cautious of sudden changes in weather conditions, especially in the affected provinces. The occurrence of thunderstorms and lightning can pose risks, and the possibility of snowfall in mountainous regions may impact travel and outdoor activities.
