The Thamel Tourism Development Council has announced the results of its recent Executive Committee election, held on the 31st of Ashadh. The election saw a competitive race for various key positions, with Dhurba Adhikari emerging victorious as Chairman, securing 562 votes. His opponent, Bhabishwar Sharma, received 450 votes.
The Vice Presidents’ positions were also keenly contested. Rajiv Pandey led the vote with 749 votes, followed by Sahadev Dhamala with 618 votes, and Shree Krishna Adhikari with 521 votes, all of whom were elected. Chetnath Pudasaini, with 457 votes, did not secure a position.
In the General Secretary race, Badri Prasad Timalsina won decisively with 655 votes against Sojesh Maan Malakar’s 324 votes. Punyaram Lageju claimed the Secretary position with 660 votes, defeating Dilip Kandel, who received 265 votes. The Treasurer position was uncontested, with Prakash Thapaliya being elected unopposed.
The eight-member positions were filled with the following results: Kopila Simkhada and Roshan Adhikari both received 574 votes, Kumar Nepali obtained 537 votes, Binod Shrestha garnered 529 votes, Amrit Thokar (Lama) secured 506 votes, Sanukaji Maharjan received 518 votes, Ramesh Bishwakarma got 453 votes, and Badri Prasad Aryal received 433 votes.
The newly elected Executive Committee members are expected to take office and begin their duties immediately. The election was conducted smoothly, and the turnout was commendable.
