The Pashupati Kotihom Mahayagya has ceremonially commenced, marking the start of a month-long series of religious activities in the holy month of Shrawan. The inauguration event saw a large turnout of devotees and dignitaries.
The Kotihom Mahayagya, which includes the recitations of the Shri Shiv Mahapuran and the Shrimad Bhagavatam, was officially inaugurated today. On its first day, the event attracted over 5,000 devotees, according to the Kotihom organizing committee.
The inauguration ceremony was presided over by Bijay Krishnamurti Maharaj, the founder of the Manav Sewa Foundation and the visionary behind the Pashupati Kotihom Mahayagya. The chief guest for the occasion was Rahul Ganesh Bhatt, the head of the Pashupati Temple.
The event also saw the participation of notable figures including Members of Parliament Sher Bahadur Kunwar and Gyan Bahadur Shahi, Dr. Milan Kumar Thapa, the member secretary of the Pashupati Development Trust, Kirat religious leader Dr. Chandra Kumar Sharma, along with other prominent Lamas and Buddhist monks.
From the inauguration day, renowned storyteller Radhika Dasi began narrating the Shiva Mahapuran, while Devi Pratibha commenced the recitation of the Shreemad Bhagawat. According to the organizers, Dasi will deliver her discourses daily from 8 AM to 2 PM, and Pratibha will continue from 2 PM to 7 PM.
In addition to the main events, the Mahayagya includes various other religious recitations such as Rudri Path, 18 Purana Path, 108 Shrimad Bhagavat Path, and Saptachandi Path, all of which have started alongside the main discourses.
The Kotihom Mahayagya is expected to draw large numbers of devotees throughout the month, contributing to the spiritual vibrancy and religious fervor of the Pashupati area.
