This morning, devotees flocked to Sheshnarayan Temple located in the northern part of Kathmandu to seek blessings and perform worship. Every year, a fair is held at this temple in Farphing of Dakshinkali Municipality on the auspicious day of Asar Shukla Ekadashi.
Local representatives and security personnel are diligently organizing the influx of devotees arriving here. Among the four Narayans in the Kathmandu Valley, the Sheshnarayan Temple holds significant importance as a pilgrimage site. From Asar Shukla Ekadashi to Kartik Shukla Ekadashi, spanning four months, Hindu devotees believe Lord Vishnu rests in the Kshirsagar (Ocean of Milk).
It is believed that visiting the temple today for darshan and worship brings familial happiness, peace, and spiritual merit. Across the country, devotees are experiencing a surge in reverence towards Narayan Temples for the sacred sight of Lord Vishnu, considered a symbol of Tulsi, fostering a tradition of placing Tulsi plants in homes as a symbol of Lord Vishnu.
