The Nepal Tourist Vehicles Association (NTVA) has expressed heartfelt condolences to the youths who lost their lives during the recent Gen Z-led movement demanding freedom, impartial justice, and a corruption-free nation.
In a statement issued Thursday, NTVA honored the sacrifices of the young generation, describing their actions as a “new chapter of transformation in Nepal’s history.” The association extended its deepest sympathy to the bereaved families and wished for the speedy recovery of all injured citizens. “We offer our heartfelt tribute to the martyrs and our sincere condolences to the grieving families. To those injured, we extend our prayers for swift recovery,” the association said.
Lessons from Past Crises
Reflecting on the nation’s resilience, NTVA highlighted how the tourist transport sector has endured multiple crises in recent years, including the 2015 earthquake, the COVID-19 pandemic, and recurring natural disasters. Despite facing immense challenges, the sector has gradually regained strength, proving its resilience in the face of adversity.
The association noted that these past experiences provide encouragement to face the present crisis with patience and determination. “The ability to overcome previous hardships inspires us to remain strong and work collectively in the current difficult times,” the statement emphasized.
Impact on Tourism and Transport Businesses
NTVA acknowledged that the current wave of protests and instability has had a direct impact on the tourism sector. With the start of the main tourist season in Nepal, ongoing disruptions have severely affected travel agencies, transport operators, and hospitality businesses.
Tourism entrepreneurs have reported cancellations and uncertainties as a result of the unrest. However, the association urged business owners to remain calm, alert, and united, stressing that panic and disunity could lead to greater losses. “Although these events have struck at the very beginning of Nepal’s high tourism season, it is essential that we remain cautious and prevent further damage to our industry,” the association appealed.

Call for Peaceful and Responsible Engagement
In its statement, NTVA expressed confidence in the Gen Z movement, civic organizations, and tourism stakeholders to engage constructively and contribute to a peaceful resolution. The association highlighted the importance of channeling positive energy into dialogue and cooperation to avoid escalation of the crisis. “Despite the difficulties, we believe that the Gen Z generation, along with institutions, civil society, and tourism entrepreneurs, will remain vigilant and contribute positively towards achieving a peaceful solution,” the association noted.
Appeal for Rule of Law and Security
NTVA also called on Nepal’s security agencies to ensure the safety of citizens, the protection of lives and property, and the restoration of peace and order across the country. Emphasizing the need for rule of law and good governance, the association urged all stakeholders to support the stabilization process. “We earnestly request the security forces to safeguard the people’s lives and properties, maintain peace and harmony, and help the country move toward normalization,” the statement read.
Moving Forward with Resilience
Despite the challenges, NTVA reiterated its commitment to supporting Nepal’s tourism and transport sectors during this turbulent period. It reminded members and stakeholders that calmness, unity, and collective responsibility are key to minimizing losses and building resilience. The association concluded its statement by expressing hope that Nepal will soon overcome the crisis and emerge stronger with renewed confidence in its youth and institutions.
Positive Outlook for Nepal’s Tourism Industry
Despite the challenges, NTVA expressed optimism that Nepal’s tourism industry will withstand current disruptions. The association reaffirmed the sector’s commitment to remain proactive, safeguard livelihoods, and assist in the nation’s overall stability. “We firmly believe that with collective vigilance and cooperation, the country can move forward toward normalization, while the tourism sector continues to contribute positively to Nepal’s economy and global image,” NTVA concluded.
The statement reflects the tourism industry’s determination to balance resilience with social responsibility, highlighting the sector’s role in both economic and societal stability amid periods of unrest.
