The Indo-Nepal Cultural Festival and health camp, organized by the Nepali Janasamparka Samiti South Indian Region, concluded successfully in Bangalore, South India, on Wednesday. The event celebrated the enduring friendship and shared heritage between Nepal and India through a series of vibrant cultural and social activities.
Promoting Art, Culture, and Brotherhood
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Balkrishna Pandey, President of the Janasamparka Samiti India, emphasized the importance of such initiatives in preserving and promoting Nepali culture among the Nepali diaspora living in India.

“The relationship between Nepal and India is not merely defined by our shared borders,” said Pandey. “It is rooted in deep cultural, linguistic, and spiritual connections. Events like these strengthen mutual friendship, foster cooperation, and reinforce our shared identity.”
The festival showcased Nepal’s rich cultural heritage through traditional dances, musical performances, poetry recitations, and art exhibitions. Artists from both Nepal and India participated, symbolizing unity and harmony across borders.
Fostering People-to-People Connection
Organizers said the festival served as a bridge between Nepali communities living in India and their homeland. By blending cultural expressions from both nations, the event aimed to promote better understanding and collaboration at a grassroots level.
Participants and attendees alike praised the initiative for creating a space where Nepali traditions could be celebrated and shared with local Indian communities. “Such programs not only help us stay connected to our roots but also allow others to experience Nepal’s cultural beauty,” said one of the attendees.
Health Camp for the Community
Alongside the cultural celebration, the Janasamparka Samiti organized a free health camp in collaboration with the Indo-Nepal team, providing essential medical consultations and checkups for Nepali migrants and local residents. The initiative received positive feedback for addressing health concerns within the community, particularly for those with limited access to healthcare facilities.

Strengthening Bilateral Relations
The Indo-Nepal Cultural Festival stood as a testament to the growing cultural diplomacy between the two nations. It underscored the role of community-led efforts in complementing formal diplomatic relations and nurturing long-lasting friendship. Organizers expressed commitment to continuing such initiatives in the future, envisioning larger participation and broader cultural exchange programs that highlight the values of unity, diversity, and mutual respect.
President Pandey reaffirmed the committee’s dedication to organizing more cultural and social events aimed at empowering the Nepali diaspora and strengthening Nepal-India relations. “Through shared culture and compassion, we build not just memories but bridges that connect our people for generations,” Pandey said. The festival concluded on a high note, with participants expressing gratitude and hope for continued collaboration between Nepali and Indian communities in promoting peace, culture, and friendship across borders.
