The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported that the country is currently experiencing the effects of monsoon winds, with the monsoon trough lying south of its average position.
The weather is generally cloudy across the country, with light to moderate rainfall occurring in a few places in the Gandaki, Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces. Heavy rainfall is being reported in some areas of the Bagmati and Lumbini provinces.
The department has issued a warning for heavy rainfall in some parts of the Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpashchim provinces this afternoon. Residents in these areas are advised to stay alert. Additionally, heavy rainfall is predicted for some parts of the Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces tonight. The weather is expected to remain partly to generally cloudy across the country throughout the day and night.
