Solukhumbu’s Altitude Air pilot, Captain Bibek Khadka, who survived a helicopter accident in Lobuche, is being prepared for transfer to Kathmandu for a thorough medical checkup. According to Lukla tourism entrepreneur Nurbu Sherpa, Captain Khadka’s condition is stable. “He has minor external injuries, and there is nothing to be alarmed about at the moment,” Sherpa said.

Medical Evacuation
Captain Khadka will first be flown from Lukla to Ramechhap Airport via helicopter and then transported to Kathmandu on a regular flight for further assessment. The move aims to ensure that the pilot receives proper medical attention following the accident.
Flight Details
Captain Khadka had flown the 9N-AMS helicopter to Lobuche earlier in the morning to assist with tourist operations. The helicopter reportedly sustained significant damage during the landing phase, though the pilot emerged unharmed.

Authorities and aviation teams are currently assessing the accident site and investigating the causes of the incident to prevent future occurrences. The incident highlights the challenging flying conditions in high-altitude Himalayan regions, where sudden weather changes and difficult terrain often pose risks to aviation operations.
