Traffic on the Sanfe-Martadi road has been severely disrupted due to multiple landslides, according to the District Police Office. Inspector Rabindra Singh Karki reported that landslides have blocked the highway at Taprisera, Rila, and near the prison in Martadi, halting the movement of both long and short-haul vehicles.
The continuous heavy rains have triggered these landslips, leaving passengers stranded as they travel to various destinations within and outside the district. Efforts are currently underway to clear the debris and reopen the highway.
In addition to the Sanfe-Martadi road, the Martadi-Kolti road, which connects the district headquarters of Martadi with the northeastern region, has been blocked for the past two weeks. This road has been rendered impassable due to landslides at Jilli in Badimalika Municipality-7. Rising water levels in the Bauli, Anai, and Dansanghu streams have further complicated the situation, preventing jeeps and goods-carrying vehicles from operating along this route.
Authorities are advising travelers to seek alternative routes until the roads can be cleared and made safe for travel. The District Police Office has assured that all possible measures are being taken to restore normal traffic flow and ensure the safety of the passengers.
