A luxurious and eco-friendly resort, Thori Ecolux Retreat, has officially opened its doors in Thori Rural Municipality-2, Goledanda (Red Hill), Parsa, aiming to attract both Indian and domestic tourists. With the theme “A Confluence of Nature and Luxury – Taste of the Himalayas,” the resort promises guests an unparalleled blend of natural beauty, Himalayan culinary heritage, and modern European-style accommodations. The retreat spans 1.5 bigahs and is the vision of five local entrepreneurs, Chhatendra Acharya, Dharma Bista, Rishi Khanal, Mahesh Gautam, and Bikal Acharya, who invested NPR 3 crore to bring this innovative project to life.
Culinary Excellence: Taste of the Himalayas
Chairman Chhatendra Acharya emphasized the resort’s commitment to providing authentic Himalayan flavors to visitors. The menu showcases ingredients sourced from across Nepal, including potatoes, lentils, and timur from Mustang, chauri ghee from Rasuwa, and Jetho Budho rice from Kaski. These ingredients form the Himalayan Food Set, offering guests a unique culinary journey that highlights the richness of high-altitude Nepalese cuisine.

The resort also introduces Kalij (jungle fowl) dishes for the first time in Thori, available at NPR 4,000 per bird. Guests can choose their preferred cooking style, while the resort maintains its own Kalij farm to ensure freshness and sustainability. Another specialty is Mustang’s Chyagra Sukuti (dried marinated meat), traditionally associated with the Annapurna Circuit. Guests can enjoy these regional delicacies, prepared according to individual preferences.
Coffee Culture and Local Flavors
Thori Ecolux Retreat brings a first-time coffee experience to the region with a high-tech coffee machine offering espresso, Americano, latte, and other specialty brews made from premium beans. In addition, Indian cuisine is available to cater to the diverse tastes of visitors, alongside traditional Nepalese local and Himalayan food sets prepared with fresh, locally grown vegetables.
Accommodation: Villas and Tents
The resort features European-designed villas, offering modern amenities and panoramic views of the Red Hill region, as well as single, double, and group tents for travelers seeking a closer-to-nature experience. Families, couples, and solo travelers can select accommodations based on preference, blending comfort with immersion in the pristine surroundings.
Curated Tour Packages
To enhance accessibility, Thori Ecolux Retreat offers customized travel packages for both Indian and Nepalese tourists. For Indian visitors, the resort provides Muktinath and Pashupatinath packages, covering cultural landmarks in Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Patan, and a journey through Chitwan and Pokhara to Mustang. For domestic travelers, the retreat offers rail packages to India, including destinations like Patna, Varanasi, Lucknow, Goa, Agra, and Delhi via Narkatiaganj, ensuring seamless cross-border travel.
Wildlife Safaris and Spiritual Tours
Guests can also enjoy jungle safaris in Chitwan National Park (Madi to Sauraha) and Parsa National Park (Ichhanagar to Shikariwas). Additionally, spiritual tours to Siddheshwor Mahadev, Banshakti Mai Temple, Sita Cave, White Hill, and Baghmorcha Temple are available, allowing tourists to combine leisure, adventure, and cultural exploration in one package.
Special New Year Celebrations
For the upcoming English New Year 2026, the retreat has organized a live music package featuring performances by the Screaming Soul Band on New Year’s Eve and January 1. Tickets, priced at NPR 1,000, include snacks and drinks, offering a festive and memorable experience for visitors celebrating the season in the Himalayas.
Supporting Local Communities and Sustainable Tourism
The resort emphasizes supporting local farmers by sourcing fresh vegetables, eggs, and poultry directly from the region. Guests have the option to purchase live local chickens, while Kalij is offered cooked as specialty dishes. Director Mahesh Gautam highlighted the retreat’s vision: “We aim to create a bridge between nature, culture, and luxury, providing authentic experiences for travelers from Nepal and beyond.”

A New Standard in Himalayan Hospitality
Thori Ecolux Retreat combines eco-luxury accommodations, Himalayan gastronomy, cultural immersion, and sustainable practices. By offering curated packages, unique culinary experiences, and eco-conscious hospitality, the resort is set to become a key player in Parsa’s emerging tourism sector, offering visitors a journey into the heart of the Himalayas.
Chairman Chhatendra Acharya summed up the resort’s vision: “Thori Ecolux Retreat is not just a place to stay, it’s a journey into the heart of the Himalayas, where nature, culture, and luxury converge.”
