Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), the central bank of the country, has published the official foreign exchange rates for today (Sunday), setting benchmark buying and selling rates for major international currencies. These rates guide commercial banks, financial institutions, importers, exporters, remittance service providers, and the general public in foreign currency transactions. According to Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), the rates are subject to change as per market needs and international currency movements.
US Dollar Remains Strong Against Nepali Rupee
As per the latest determination, the exchange rate of the United States Dollar (USD) has been fixed at NPR 146.81 for buying and NPR 147.41 for selling per dollar. The US dollar continues to play a dominant role in Nepal’s foreign trade, remittance inflows, and external financial transactions, making its rate closely watched by businesses and policymakers alike.
Euro, Pound Sterling, and Swiss Franc Exchange Rates
Among European currencies, the Euro (EUR) has been set at a buying rate of NPR 172.31 and a selling rate of NPR 173.02 per unit. Similarly, the UK Pound Sterling (GBP), another key currency for international trade and education-related payments, stands at NPR 198.58 for buying and NPR 199.39 for selling. The Swiss Franc (CHF), often regarded as a stable global currency, has been fixed at NPR 185.61 for buying and NPR 186.37 for selling.
Rates of Australian, Canadian, and Singapore Dollars
Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has also published exchange rates for currencies commonly used in remittance and migration-related transactions. The Australian Dollar (AUD) is set at NPR 100.55 for buying and NPR 100.96 for selling, while the Canadian Dollar (CAD) stands at NPR 106.50 for buying and NPR 106.94 for selling. Likewise, the Singapore Dollar (SGD) has been fixed at NPR 114.75 for buying and NPR 115.22 for selling per unit.
Asian Currencies: Yen, Yuan, and Gulf Currencies
In the Asian market segment, the Japanese Yen (JPY) has been valued at NPR 9.27 for buying and NPR 9.31 for selling for 10 units. The Chinese Yuan (CNY) stands at NPR 21.08 for buying and NPR 21.17 for selling per unit. Among Gulf currencies, the Saudi Arabian Riyal (SAR) is fixed at NPR 39.15 for buying and NPR 39.31 for selling, while the Qatari Riyal (QAR) is set at NPR 40.28 for buying and NPR 40.45 for selling. These currencies are particularly significant due to Nepal’s large workforce in the Middle East.
Other Regional and European Currency Rates
According to the central bank, the Thai Baht (THB) has been fixed at NPR 4.71 for buying and NPR 4.72 for selling. The UAE Dirham (AED) stands at NPR 39.97 for buying and NPR 40.13 for selling, while the Malaysian Ringgit (MYR) has been set at NPR 36.65 for buying and NPR 36.80 for selling. Similarly, the South Korean Won (KRW) for 100 units is valued at NPR 10.00 for buying and NPR 10.04 for selling. Among European currencies, the Swedish Kroner (SEK) is fixed at NPR 16.27 for buying and NPR 16.34 for selling, and the Danish Kroner (DKK) at NPR 23.07 for buying and NPR 23.16 for selling.
High-Value Currencies and the Indian Rupee
Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has also published rates for high-value currencies. The Hong Kong Dollar (HKD) stands at NPR 18.83 for buying and NPR 18.90 for selling. The Kuwaiti Dinar (KWD), one of the world’s highest-valued currencies, is fixed at NPR 480.32 for buying and NPR 482.28 for selling. Similarly, the Bahraini Dinar (BHD) is set at NPR 389.39 for buying and NPR 390.98 for selling, while the Omani Riyal (OMR) stands at NPR 381.35 for buying and NPR 382.91 for selling. Meanwhile, the Indian Rupee (INR) for 100 units has been fixed at NPR 160.00 for buying and NPR 160.15 for selling.

Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has clarified that these exchange rates may be revised at any time as required, depending on market conditions. The central bank also noted that exchange rates determined by commercial banks may differ from the official rates.
