A Turkish Airlines aircraft scheduled to operate a flight from Kathmandu to Istanbul was returned to the parking bay from the runway on Sunday after a technical indication alerted the flight crew during take-off procedures.
According to Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), the aircraft, operating under flight number TK-727, was scheduled to depart Kathmandu at 12:35 pm. The plane had already received take-off clearance and had begun its take-off run on the runway when an onboard indication signalled a possible technical issue.

Indication Alert Detected During Take-off Run to Istanbul
Speaking on the incident, TIA Acting General Manager Tek Nath Sitoula said the aircraft was stopped as a precautionary measure after the flight crew noticed an abnormal indication during the take-off roll.
“After an indication showed a possible problem, the aircraft, which had already started its take-off run, was brought to an emergency stop and returned to the parking bay,” Sitaula said. He added that the decision was taken strictly in line with aviation safety procedures to ensure the safety of passengers and crew.

Technical Inspection Underway
Following the return to the apron, the aircraft was moved to the parking area for a detailed technical inspection. Airport authorities confirmed that engineers are carrying out necessary checks to identify and resolve the issue indicated by the aircraft’s systems.
According to the airport management, the flight will resume only after the completion of a full technical assessment and clearance from the concerned maintenance and safety teams.
