District Hotel Entrepreneurs Association to Hold 7th AGM

The District Hotel Entrepreneurs Association (DHEA), Kathmandu, is set to organize its Seventh Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Saturday, Falgun 2, 2082 (February 14, 2026) at Pabera Heritage Boutique Hotel, Budhanilkantha. The event is expected to witness a notable presence of hotel entrepreneurs and key stakeholders from the hotel and tourism sector, marking an important milestone for the association.

Active Participation from Member Units

According to DHEA President Suresh Baral, the AGM will be held with the active participation of hotel entrepreneur representatives from seven affiliated units under the association. He stated that the annual gathering aims to strengthen the organization institutionally, contribute to policy formulation, and enhance the collective voice of hotel entrepreneurs operating within Kathmandu district.

President Baral emphasized that the AGM serves as a crucial platform for unity among hotel entrepreneurs and plays a significant role in guiding the association’s future direction. He added that the active engagement of members is vital for reinforcing the organization’s credibility and effectiveness.

Review of Annual Progress and Financial Reports

The AGM will be attended by representatives from small, medium, and large-scale hotels operating across Kathmandu district. General Secretary Sailendra Bikram Thapa informed that the program will include the presentation of the annual report of the previous fiscal year, a detailed income and expenditure statement, and a comprehensive review of organizational progress.

He further noted that the meeting will facilitate in-depth discussions on future policies, programs, and strategic action plans to be adopted by the association in the coming years. The AGM will also focus on identifying priority areas to support sustainable growth in the hotel and tourism sector.

Addressing Challenges in the Hotel and Tourism Sector

The association has stated that the AGM will serve as a common platform for hotel and tourism entrepreneurs to deliberate on current challenges facing the industry, including policy-related hurdles and operational difficulties. Key discussion areas will include post-COVID tourism recovery, the impact of various movements and disruptions on the hospitality industry, promoting domestic tourism, enhancing service quality, maintaining professional standards, and effective workforce management within hotels.

The event will also see the participation of office bearers and representatives from various tourism-related organizations, including the Hotel Entrepreneurs Association of Bagmati Province and the Hotel Association Nepal, among others. DHEA officials expressed confidence that the AGM would contribute significantly to building a unified approach toward addressing sectoral issues and strengthening inter-organizational cooperation.
