The Culture & Heritage Tour Training Program, organized by the Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA), successfully concluded after four impactful days of learning and engagement. The program, which began on February 24 in Kathmandu, aimed to enhance professional capacity in culture and heritage tourism.
Collaborative Effort to Promote Sustainable Tourism
The training was conducted in collaboration with the Sustainable Tourism Project (STP), a joint initiative of the Nepal Tourism Board and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The partnership reflects a shared commitment to strengthening sustainable tourism practices while preserving Nepal’s rich cultural and historical assets.

Over 40 Tourism Professionals Benefit
More than 40 participants directly benefited from the comprehensive training, gaining deeper insights into Nepal’s cultural diversity, heritage conservation, responsible tourism approaches, and effective tour management techniques. The sessions focused on equipping tourism professionals with practical knowledge to design meaningful cultural experiences for visitors while ensuring sustainability and community engagement.

Closing Ceremony and Certificate Distribution
The program concluded with a formal closing session featuring the distribution of certificates to all participants. NATTA President Kumar Mani Thapaliya led the ceremony and delivered closing remarks, emphasizing the importance of skilled human resources in promoting Nepal as a culturally rich and responsible travel destination. NATTA Board Members were also present to mark the successful completion of the initiative.
Program Coordination and Future Commitment
The entire training program was successfully coordinated by NATTA Executive Member Mrs. Shradha Joshi, whose efforts ensured smooth implementation of the sessions. NATTA reiterated its continued commitment to strengthening the capacity of tourism professionals and promoting sustainable cultural tourism across Nepal. The association plans to organize similar training programs in the future to support the long-term development of the tourism sector and preserve the nation’s heritage for generations to come.
