NTB Welcomes ITB Berlin 2026 Amidst Challenges

The Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) has proudly marked its participation in the 60th edition of ITB Berlin 2026, the world’s leading travel trade exhibition, being held in Berlin, Germany from March 3 to 5, 2026. Despite ongoing global uncertainties, particularly those arising from the crisis in the Middle East that have affected international travel patterns and airline operations, Nepal’s presence at the prestigious event underscores the resilience, adaptability, and enduring optimism of the country’s tourism sector.

This year, 25 tourism companies from Nepal have successfully participated in ITB Berlin under the coordination of NTB. Although the initial plan envisioned the participation of 31 companies, the evolving geopolitical situation and travel constraints necessitated certain adjustments. Nevertheless, the strong representation reflects the industry’s determination to sustain international engagement and promote Nepal as a safe, diverse, and rewarding travel destination. The presence of Nepali tourism entrepreneurs, hoteliers, trekking operators, and travel agencies sends a clear message that Nepal remains open, prepared, and committed to welcoming global travelers.

Reinforcing Nepal’s Global Tourism Presence

Speaking at the event, Robin Regmi, Senior Officer of the Nepal Tourism Board, emphasized the importance of Nepal’s continued engagement in global tourism platforms. He noted that despite the challenges facing the international travel industry, NTB remains steadfast in its mission to position Nepal as a must-visit destination. According to him, participation in ITB Berlin is not only about business networking but also about strengthening long-term partnerships and enhancing Nepal’s visibility in the European market.

ITB Berlin serves as a critical platform for destinations worldwide to connect with tour operators, airlines, media representatives, and travel technology providers. For Nepal, Europe has long been a significant source market, particularly for adventure travelers, trekkers, and cultural explorers. Through scheduled business-to-business meetings, networking events, and promotional presentations, Nepali delegates aim to foster new collaborations and reinforce existing ties.

Commitment to Sustainable and Responsible Tourism

Beyond promotion, NTB is also focusing on sustainable tourism development and responsible travel practices. The Board is highlighting Nepal’s commitment to eco-friendly tourism, community-based initiatives, and cultural preservation. As global travelers increasingly seek meaningful and environmentally conscious experiences, Nepal’s model of integrating tourism with local livelihoods and conservation efforts resonates strongly.

The participation at ITB Berlin also comes at a time when the global tourism industry is navigating complex challenges, including fluctuating fuel prices and geopolitical uncertainties. Nepal’s delegation has used this platform to reassure international partners of the country’s safety, hospitality, and readiness to host travelers year-round.

Invitation to Discover Nepal

The Nepal Tourism Board has extended a warm invitation to international visitors, encouraging them to explore the rich tapestry of experiences that Nepal offers. From high-altitude adventures and mountaineering expeditions to wellness retreats, cultural immersion, wildlife safaris, and eco-resorts, Nepal provides diverse opportunities for travelers seeking authenticity and inspiration.

As ITB Berlin 2026 progresses, NTB and its participating companies remain optimistic about strengthening Nepal’s tourism prospects. Through collaboration, innovation, and a shared commitment to excellence, Nepal continues to stand firm in the global tourism arena, demonstrating that even amid challenges, its spirit of hospitality and adventure remains unwavering.
