Hotel Ichchha Limited to Be Operated Under the International Lemon Tree Hotels Brand

Hotel Ichchha Limited, located in Bara–Simara, will now be operated under the international Lemon Tree Hotels brand following a management transfer agreement that promises to bring world-class hospitality standards to one of Nepal’s emerging industrial and transit hubs.

The deal, signed between Moonsun Wagle, Managing Director of Hotel Ichchha Limited, and Neelendra Singh, Managing Director of Lemon Tree Hotels, marks a significant milestone for Simara, a city strategically located along the East-West Highway in Nepal’s Madhesh Province. The signing event was held at Lemon Tree’s corporate headquarters in New Delhi, India, underscoring the growing cross-border collaboration in the hospitality sector between Nepal and India.

Rebranding as Lemon Tree Hotel Simara With International Standards

As per the terms of the agreement, Hotel Ichchha will be rebranded as Lemon Tree Hotel Simara and will adhere to Lemon Tree’s internationally recognized service and facility management standards. The five-star facility, which has been serving the Bara–Simara region, is expected to undergo operational enhancements to align with the global brand’s quality benchmarks, including guest service protocols, housekeeping standards, food safety measures, and staff training programs.

The collaboration ensures that the hotel will now benefit from Lemon Tree’s extensive reservation network, loyalty programs, and marketing reach, potentially attracting both business and leisure travelers who might otherwise bypass the region. For Lemon Tree, this represents another strategic expansion into Nepal’s rapidly growing hospitality landscape.

Lemon Tree’s Expanding Presence in Nepal

Lemon Tree has already expanded its presence in Kathmandu and Chitwan and is preparing to launch a new five-star hotel in Biratnagar soon, demonstrating the brand’s growing commitment to the Nepali market. The company, which operates a large portfolio of hotels across India and internationally, has been steadily increasing its footprint in Nepal, recognizing the country’s tourism potential beyond the traditional Kathmandu-Pokhara circuit.

The addition of Simara to its network is particularly significant, as Bara district is home to the Simara Airport, the Nijgadh International Airport (under development), and several large-scale industrial projects. This makes the location strategically important for business travelers, corporate events, and transit tourists moving between eastern and western Nepal or traveling to and from India.

Boosting Tourism and Service Quality in the Bara–Simara Region with Hotel Ichchha

This collaboration between Hotel Ichchha Limited and Lemon Tree Hotels is expected to boost tourism in the Bara–Simara region while enhancing service quality and management standards through international expertise. Simara has long been viewed primarily as a transit point rather than a destination, but the arrival of an internationally branded hotel could begin to change that perception.

With improved accommodation standards, the region may attract more corporate conferences, wedding tourism, and even leisure travelers seeking to explore nearby attractions such as the Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve, the historic town of Janakpur, or the pilgrimage sites of Baraha Chhetra. Local tourism entrepreneurs have welcomed the development, noting that international branding often triggers a ripple effect, encouraging other businesses to upgrade their own facilities and services to compete.

Executives Express Optimism for Regional Tourism Development

Hotel Ichchha Limited’s CEO, Rewanta Prasad Dhaubhadel, and Board of Directors member Gokarna Khatiwada attended the ceremony at Lemon Tree’s corporate headquarters in New Delhi. Both executives expressed optimism that the agreement will strengthen the hotel’s market position and contribute to the region’s tourism development. Speaking after the signing, Dhaubhadel noted that the partnership brings not just a brand name but a complete operational philosophy centered on guest satisfaction, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

He emphasized that local staff would receive training under Lemon Tree’s programs, creating employment opportunities and building human capital within the region. Similarly, Moonsun Wagle, Managing Director of Hotel Ichchha Limited, described the deal as a transformative step for the property, which he said had always aspired to offer international standards to its guests. Neelendra Singh, Managing Director of Lemon Tree Hotels, reiterated the company’s confidence in Nepal’s tourism future and expressed hope that the Simara property would become a model for future collaborations in emerging markets across the country.

A New Chapter for Simara’s Hospitality Landscape

The signing of this management agreement signals a new chapter not only for Hotel Ichchha Limited but for the entire Bara–Simara region. As Nepal continues to develop its infrastructure, including road networks, airports, and industrial corridors, the demand for quality accommodation is expected to rise sharply. The rebranding of Hotel Ichchha as Lemon Tree Hotel Simara positions the property to capture that demand from the outset. For travelers accustomed to international standards, the presence of a trusted brand name provides reassurance and encourages longer stays.

For local businesses, it creates new opportunities for partnerships, supply chains, and service delivery. As Lemon Tree continues its expansion across Nepal, with Kathmandu, Chitwan, Biratnagar, and now Simara in its portfolio, the message is clear: international hospitality is no longer confined to the capital city. With this agreement, Simara has firmly placed itself on the map for quality-conscious travelers, and the region stands to benefit from the economic ripple effects for years to come.
