Police Personnel Awarded for Heroic Rescue Effort

On July 24, six police personnel were honored for their bravery in rescuing a pilot from a plane crash site. The incident occurred when a Pokhara-bound aircraft from Saurya Airlines crashed shortly after takeoff from Tribhuvan International Airport, resulting in 18 fatalities out of 19 passengers.

According to Nepal Police Spokesperson DIG Dan Bahadur Karki, the awarded officers—DSP Sukdev Khanal, Tanka Raut, and constables Shree Ram Pariyar, Karan Singh Chaisir, Bhim Prasad Gautam, and Krishna Joshi—were recognized for their courageous efforts in rescuing pilot Manish Ratna Shakya alive from the wreckage.

Despite the dangerous circumstances, the police personnel successfully extracted the injured pilot and transported him to a nearby health facility, demonstrating exceptional bravery and commitment in the face of adversity.
