As the spring mountaineering season gains momentum, the Government of Nepal has deployed a dedicated field unit at Everest Base Camp to strengthen oversight, coordination, and safety for climbers in the Khumbu region.
The temporary facility, established by the Department of Tourism Nepal under the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation Nepal, is designed to function as an on-site command center throughout the busy expedition season.
On-Ground Presence to Improve Coordination
Officials say the field office will act as a central coordination hub for mountaineers, expedition operators, and support teams.
