Bagmati Sweets, based in Tripureshwor, has received a clean chit from the Department of Food Technology and Quality Control after a joint inspection confirmed that its food hygiene standards are satisfactory.
According to the department, a joint monitoring team comprising officials from the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, the Department of Food Technology and Quality Control, the Kathmandu District Administration Office, and the divisional office conducted an on-site inspection. Following the assessment, restrictions previously imposed on the company’s production and sales were lifted.

Improvements in Infrastructure and Hygiene Practices
Bagmati Sweets stated that it has upgraded its internal infrastructure, strengthened employee management, and improved production processes to meet required hygiene standards.

The company has also assigned dedicated staff for pest control, cleanliness management, and raw material quality monitoring to ensure consistent food safety compliance.

Strict Safety Measures Introduced
To prevent contamination, the company has introduced separate footwear arrangements for staff inside production areas. Regular pest control operations are being carried out every two weeks.
In addition, the mandatory use of aprons, gloves, and caps has been enforced for all employees working in production units, ensuring improved hygiene and product safety standards.
