A 22-member team from the Armed Police Force Nepal has successfully summited the Chulu Far East peak as part of an advanced high-altitude search and rescue training programme being conducted in Manang.

The successful expedition was carried out by instructors and trainees from the Mountain Rescue Training School of the Armed Police Force, located in Manang. The team was led by Armed Police Deputy Superintendent Baburam Thapa.

Team Reaches Summit at 6,038 Metres
According to the Armed Police Force, the team comprising four instructors, 18 trainees, and two Sherpa guides successfully reached the summit of the 6,038-metre mountain at 6:45 am on Baishakh 29. The expedition team had departed from Chulu of Ngisyang Rural Municipality-3 on Baishakh 27. The final summit push began at 11:00 pm on Baishakh 28 before the team successfully reached the peak the following morning.

Boost to High-Himalayan Rescue Capability
Officials said the successful ascent has further strengthened the high-altitude rescue capabilities of the Armed Police Force.

The training and expedition are expected to enhance preparedness and operational efficiency in future emergency rescue missions in Nepal’s mountainous regions. The achievement also reflects the growing emphasis on specialized mountain rescue training for security personnel deployed in high-Himalayan areas.
