The Himalayan district of Manang witnessed a strong influx of tourists during Baisakh 2083, reflecting the growing popularity of the Annapurna Circuit Trek and the continued revival of Nepal’s mountain tourism sector. According to the latest tourism flow update, a total of 7,200 tourists visited Manang during the month, including travelers from SAARC nations as well as other international destinations.
Among the total arrivals, 969 tourists came from SAARC countries. It shows that the majority of these visitors were from India, accounting for 961 travelers. The remaining visitors arrived from other SAARC member countries. Of the SAARC tourists, 738 were male, and 231 were female visitors.

Tourism officials stated that the increasing number of Indian travelers highlights the growing interest in Nepal’s trekking routes and Himalayan experiences among regional tourists. Improved road connectivity, easier travel access, and the appeal of adventure tourism have continued to attract visitors to the Annapurna region.
Israel Tops International Tourist Arrivals
In addition to SAARC travelers, Manang also recorded a remarkable flow of international tourists from other foreign countries. A total of 6,231 foreign visitors visited the district during Baisakh. Among them were 3,455 male tourists, 2,774 female tourists, and 2 visitors categorized under others.

Israel emerged as the leading source market among foreign visitors, with 1,209 Israeli tourists traveling through the Annapurna Circuit route during the month. Tourism stakeholders believe the Annapurna region remains one of the most preferred trekking destinations for Israeli adventure travelers due to its scenic mountain landscapes, cultural experiences, and globally recognized trekking trails.
Local tourism entrepreneurs and hotel operators in Manang have welcomed the increasing tourist flow, saying the rise in arrivals has positively impacted local businesses, including hotels, restaurants, jeep services, and trekking-related enterprises.
Annapurna Circuit Continues to Draw Global Attention
The Annapurna Circuit Trek remains one of Nepal’s most iconic trekking routes, attracting thousands of adventure seekers every year. Passing through Manang, the trail offers spectacular Himalayan scenery, traditional mountain villages, and diverse landscapes that continue to fascinate both domestic and international travelers.

Tourism experts say the steady increase in tourist arrivals in Manang is a positive indicator for Nepal’s tourism recovery and regional economic growth. With trekking activities gradually expanding after previous global travel disruptions, destinations like Manang are once again seeing vibrant tourism movement during the spring trekking season.
