The Dialogue among World Famous Mountains 2026 centered on the theme “Ecological Conservation and Pathways for Innovative Development of Famous Tourism Mountains.” The event brought together representatives from mountain management bodies across China, Argentina, Saudi Arabia, and Vietnam to discuss sustainable governance practices and practical development pathways.
Participants shared experiences on balancing ecological conservation, cultural heritage preservation, and tourism development across renowned mountain destinations including Shennongjia, Mount Fitz Roy, Soudah Peak, Danxia Mountain, and Yên Tử Mountain.

The roundtable was hosted by Xu Jing, Former Regional Director for Asia and the Pacific of UN Tourism. The panel featured distinguished experts including Soon-Hwa Wong, Ambassador for Greater China at the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA); Tiger Wu, Founding Chairman of the International Tourism Studies Association and Member of the IMTA Expert Committee; Federico Mattei, Sustainable Food Systems Specialist at the Mountain Partnership Secretariat (FAO); Zhao Zhonghua, Chief Representative of the Beijing Office of World Animal Protection; and Anu Kumari Lama, nominated speaker from the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD).
