The Nepal Academy of Tourism and Hotel Management (NATHM) has called on concerned institutions to nominate participants for a five-day “Yoga Retreat Hospitality & Operations” training programme aimed at producing skilled human resources for Nepal’s emerging wellness tourism sector. The training is being organised in line with the National Wellness Tourism Strategy, 2083, formulated by the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation (MoCTCA) to promote and develop wellness tourism in Nepal.
Training Supports National Wellness Tourism Strategy
According to NATHM, the training programme has been designed to strengthen the capacity of professionals working in the wellness tourism industry by providing practical knowledge and operational skills related to yoga retreat management and hospitality.

The academy said it has already developed training models and curricula for four specialised wellness tourism programmes:
- Spiritual & Meditation Tourism
- Yoga Wellness Tourism
- Ayurveda & Wellness Tourism
- Spa Tourism
These courses are expected to help produce qualified and skilled professionals required for Nepal’s expanding wellness and holistic tourism industry.

The programme will be conducted based on the academy’s approved curriculum under its Wellness Tourism Training Programme.

The initiative is part of broader efforts to position Nepal as a leading destination for wellness tourism by developing a skilled workforce capable of delivering high-quality services in yoga, meditation, Ayurveda, spa and holistic wellness experiences.
Tourism officials believe that strengthening human resources in these specialised sectors will enhance Nepal’s competitiveness in the global wellness tourism market while creating new employment opportunities.
