Radisson Hotel Group has announced the signing of Radisson Hotel Ongole, a new 151-room upscale hotel that will mark the Group’s debut in the city and become Ongole’s first internationally branded hotel. The development reinforces the company’s strategy of expanding into India’s fast-growing Tier-II and Tier-III cities while strengthening its presence in Andhra Pradesh. The upcoming hotel is expected to cater to the increasing demand for quality accommodation, meetings, events, and leisure facilities driven by the city’s growing commercial and industrial activities.
Milestone for Ongole and Andhra Pradesh
Commenting on the signing, Nikhil Sharma, Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer, South Asia, Radisson Hotel Group, said the project reflects the rising demand for international-standard hospitality beyond India’s major metropolitan centres. He noted that introducing Ongole’s first internationally branded hotel represents an important milestone for both the city and Radisson Hotel Group’s expansion journey in Andhra Pradesh. Sharma added that improving infrastructure, enhanced connectivity, and changing traveller expectations continue to create new opportunities in emerging commercial destinations across India.
Strategic Location in a Growing Commercial Hub
Situated along the busy Chennai–Kolkata corridor, Ongole has emerged as an important commercial and agricultural centre. The city’s economy is supported by agriculture, tobacco trading, seafood exports, granite processing, and increasing industrial activity. With ongoing infrastructure development and expanding business operations, demand for organized hospitality services has grown significantly, creating opportunities for premium hotels capable of serving corporate travellers, business events, weddings, and leisure visitors.

The new group Hotel Ongole will be strategically located along National Highway-16 (NH-16), providing convenient access to Ongole Railway Station, industrial parks, and business districts. Guests will also be within easy reach of popular coastal attractions, including Kothapatnam Beach, Suryalanka Beach, Vodarevu Beach, and the Chirala–Vodarevu–Suryalanka tourism corridor.
Modern Facilities for Business and Leisure
Designed to serve both business and leisure travellers, the hotel will feature 151 well-appointed guest rooms along with an all-day dining restaurant, bar, and lounge. One of the property’s standout features will be more than 2,100 square metres of meeting and banqueting space, making it suitable for conferences, corporate meetings, exhibitions, weddings, and large social events. The hotel will also include a swimming pool, spa, and fitness centre, providing guests with a comprehensive hospitality experience while offering the local community premium venues for dining and celebrations.
Expansion Strategy Focuses on Emerging Markets
The Ongole signing forms part of Radisson Hotel Group’s broader expansion strategy targeting India’s Tier-II and Tier-III cities, where demand for organized hospitality continues to grow. The Group currently operates and has under development more than 225 hotels across India and remains the largest hotel operator in the Delhi NCR region. More than half of its Indian portfolio is located in Tier-II and Tier-III cities, reflecting its long-term commitment to expanding beyond traditional metropolitan markets.

Its India portfolio includes several brands, including Radisson Collection, Radisson Blu, Radisson, Radisson RED, Park Plaza, Park Inn by Radisson, Radisson Individuals, and Radisson Individuals Retreats. The Ongole project follows a series of recent expansion announcements, including the signing of a 115-room Radisson Hotel Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh. It is also part of the company’s broader growth momentum, which saw the signing of 10 new hotels across seven Indian states within a single week in July.
Long-Term Vision for Hospitality Growth
Speaking on the development, Davashish Srivastava, Vice President, Development, South Asia, Radisson Hotel Group, said the company continues to prioritize destinations where economic expansion and infrastructure improvements are generating new opportunities for organized hospitality.
He stated that Ongole offers strong growth potential and provides an ideal opportunity to introduce international-quality hospitality while further expanding Radisson Hotel Group’s footprint in Andhra Pradesh. Srivastava added that the Group remains committed to partnering with property owners who share its long-term vision for sustainable hospitality development in underserved markets. The signing of Radisson Hotel Ongole underscores the Group’s continued confidence in India’s emerging cities and highlights the growing demand for premium hospitality infrastructure as regional business and tourism markets continue to expand.
