Bangladeshi and Nepali photojournalists jointly planted fruit trees at the Pokhara Stadium premises during a visit by a delegation of Bangladeshi photojournalists to Pokhara, highlighting the growing friendship and professional ties between Nepal and Bangladesh.
Tree Plantation Symbolizes Friendship
The photo journalists planted mango and other fruit-bearing trees as a symbol of friendship and brotherhood between the two countries. The initiative was also seen as a creative way to strengthen relations among photo journalists from Nepal and Bangladesh while promoting environmental awareness. The tree plantation was organized with the support of Milan Gurung, Chairperson of the District Sports Development Committee.

The program was attended by A.K.M. Mohsin, President of the Bangladesh Photojournalists Association; Pradeep Raj Onta, President of the National Photojournalists Group; and other photojournalists from both countries. Onta said that the professional relationship and friendship between Nepali and Bangladeshi photojournalists, which has continued for the past 21 years, could gain further inspiration through creative initiatives such as joint tree plantation.
Bangladeshi Delegation Engages with Pokhara Mayor
The 12-member Bangladeshi photojournalists’ delegation, led by Mohsin, also held a meeting with Dhanraj Acharya, Mayor of Pokhara Metropolitan City, on Monday. The meeting discussed matters of mutual interest, including strengthening people-to-people relations and promoting cultural exchanges between Nepal and Bangladesh.

The delegation included Mohsin, General Secretary Babul Talukdar, former President A.B.M. Rafiqul Rahman, and other members of the Bangladesh Photojournalists Association.
Focus on Promoting Pokhara in Bangladesh
During the meeting, Mayor Acharya highlighted the initiatives being undertaken by Pokhara Metropolitan City to promote Pokhara in international tourism markets. He urged the Bangladeshi photo journalists to help promote Pokhara’s natural beauty, culture, hospitality, and adventure tourism activities among audiences in Bangladesh. The involvement of professional photojournalists is particularly significant for destination promotion, as visual storytelling and photography can help introduce Pokhara’s tourism attractions to potential international visitors.

Photojournalists Impressed by Pokhara
Members of the Bangladeshi delegation said they were impressed by Pokhara’s natural beauty and environment. Their visit provides an opportunity to experience the destination firsthand and potentially showcase its attractions through their professional work. For Nepal, greater exposure in the Bangladeshi market could help strengthen awareness of Pokhara as an international tourism destination and encourage further tourism and cultural exchanges between the two countries.
Strengthening Nepal–Bangladesh Tourism Links
The visit reflects the broader relationship between Nepal and Bangladesh beyond professional cooperation among photojournalists. Cultural exchanges, destination visits, and international media engagement can contribute to Nepal’s tourism promotion efforts in the Bangladeshi market. The meeting was also attended by Pradeep Raj Onta, General Secretary Ghanshyam Shrestha, member Ajay Manandhar, Kaski Branch President Yogendra Shrestha, Vice President Basanta Thapa and Secretary Prem Thapa, among others. The visit combines destination promotion, international media engagement, cultural exchange and environmental initiatives, making it relevant to Nepal’s efforts to strengthen its tourism presence in Bangladesh.
