The Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA) has mobilized a humanitarian relief initiative to support people affected and displaced by the recent catastrophic floods in Battar, Nuwakot. As part of its initial response, a NATTA delegation led by President Bharat Jung Pandey departed from the association’s headquarters in Naxal, Kathmandu, at 12:30 PM today carrying the first consignment of essential relief materials.
First Phase of Relief Operation Begins
The first batch of relief supplies includes essential clothing, food items, drinking water, hygiene and sanitation materials, and other daily necessities required by families affected by the disaster. The initiative marks the first phase of NATTA’s disaster response efforts aimed at providing immediate assistance to communities facing difficult conditions following the floods.
NATTA Leadership Leads Relief Mission
President Bharat Jung Pandey is leading the delegation travelling to Battar to coordinate and support the delivery of the relief materials to affected communities. The leadership team accompanying him includes Secretary General Raj Kumar Devkota, Joint Treasurer Jeewan Koirala, and Executive Member Dinesh Mainali.
The participation of NATTA’s leadership in the first relief mission reflects the association’s commitment to extending support beyond the tourism sector and standing in solidarity with communities affected by natural disasters.
Relief Material Collection Underway in Naxal
NATTA has established its Secretariat in Naxal, Kathmandu, as the central collection point for the ongoing relief campaign. The association is continuing to collect essential materials and is preparing to dispatch a second batch of relief supplies to the affected region in the coming days. The association has encouraged contributors to prioritize practical items that can immediately assist families who have lost access to basic necessities because of the disaster.
Open Appeal for Individuals and Organizations
To sustain the humanitarian response, NATTA has issued an open appeal to individuals, corporate organizations, tourism businesses, institutions and well-wishers to contribute to the relief campaign. The association is currently accepting non-perishable food items, safe drinking water, clothing, hygiene and sanitation products, and other essential daily necessities at its Naxal Secretariat. NATTA has urged those willing to contribute to deliver useful relief materials to the Secretariat so they can be included in upcoming consignments.
NATTA Expresses Gratitude to Donors
NATTA has expressed its appreciation to the donors, supporters and partner organizations whose contributions helped make the initial relief dispatch possible. In its statement, the association said, “Your generous support, kindness, and solidarity have helped make this relief initiative possible,” while emphasizing the importance of collective action during times of crisis.
Second Consignment to Follow
With collection efforts continuing at the Naxal Secretariat, NATTA is preparing for the next phase of its relief operation. The association said further supplies will be dispatched to the affected area as additional materials are collected. NATTA has reiterated its commitment to standing alongside the victims of the disaster and called on the wider community to come together in support of affected families. The association emphasized that continued cooperation and collective efforts will be crucial as communities in Battar and surrounding areas move from immediate relief toward recovery and rehabilitation.
